As anyone who playes Salmon Run knows, the scale system sucks ass. Someone could play for hundreds of hours and not earn a single golden scale, which while not devestating is still pretty unfair in a game with such an emphasis on customization. So here's my idea on how to make earning scales more consistant:
- Scale Exchange: I know I'm not the first to come up with this, but it's a simple idea that improves QoL. Make us able to exchange 10 bronze scale for 1 silver, and 10 silver for 1 gold. It's as shrimple as that.
- Normal gameplay: Give a 1% chance of earning a scale for every egg over quota. My reasoning for this is that both special events for Salmon Run are focused on gaining as many golden eggs as possible, so players should also be rewarded during normal gameplay to keep with the theme. The current scale drop rate would also make more sense when applied to non-King salmonids, as they're less "special', so gaining mostly bronze would make sense here.
- King Salmonids: INCREASE THE DROP RATE FOR SILVER AND GOLD! And double the current drop rate in general. Also guarentee at least one of every scale type if you defeat it. I'm tired of grinding for half an hour only to get 12 bronze.
- Ok thats it!
